We Are Still Here!

So, the last year has been a blur and I'm the worst blogger ever, but I'm going to try to get going again. I'll post some recent pictures now and then I'll try to catch up with some older ones later. Addie is 18 months, going on 19. Wow!

Addie, Ella and Nate are 9th Generation at Gussettville

On Saturday, March 7th Addie Fohn, Ella Gilmore and Nathan Reyna (all cousins) were baptized at St. Joseph's church in Gussettville. Many of their ancestors on their moms' ("the James girls" - Shannon, Stacey and Krista) side going back 9 generations have been baptized or married at the Gussettville church or otherwise involved at Gussettville. Nine generations ago, Mary McGloin Fox (the sister of the emprasario James McGloin and a widow at the time) brought her 7 children from Ireland and settled in Gussettville (which was called Fox's Nation at the time). Eight generations ago, Thomas and Margaret Pugh came by wagon to Gussettville after their boat was shipwrecked off the coast of Louisiana. Seven generations ago Bridget O'Brien McGloin skinned enough cattle that died in the drought of 1869 in Gussettville to buy 160 acres of land for 50 cents an acre. The history continues from there...

We all decided to have our kids baptized in Gussettville for obvious reasons. It was a very special day for the family to be together. I'm very proud to be Ella's godmother and to begin the training of both Addie and Ella to know and love God.

New Years

We spent New Years with Meredith, Wayne and Mattie Thoms. We had dinner with them and Stacey, Scott and Ella Gilmore on New Years Eve. It was great to see everyone.

Christmas in George West and Austin

While these Christmas pictures are super late, I figured better late than never.

From the Artist Danielle Allen

We are so excited that Danielle had some time to take a few pictures of Addie. We absolutely love them. We hope you all enjoy them. Thank you Danielle!

Sassy Addie

I left my camera in Beeville when we were visiting Papa in the hospital, so I can't post the Christmas pictures yet, but here are some taken just before Christmas.

Ella Lee Gilmore Has Arrived and The Cousins Already Love Each Other

I am now an aunt of the beautiful little Ella Lee Gilmore. She was born November 11th at 10:37pm weighing 7lbs 12 oz (the same weight at Addie) and measuring 20 1/2 inches (the same length as Addie). She is perfect! The cousins took their first pictures together on Saturday. They are already friends (as decided by their moms!).

Addie This Week

Addie has been smiling and I actually got a picture of it!

Four Generations of James's and Four Generations of Pugh's

Addie's Nana and Papa came to Gussetville to visit Addie in early November. The picture captures four generations of James's and four generations of Pugh's. This is where Addie gets her good Irish heritage. The Pugh's and James ancestors have been in Gussettville (Fox's Nation) since 1829 - 1831. They received Spanish landgrants and were involved in pre-revolution Texas history. Some even encountered Santa Anna! We love Nana and Papa. Addie's middle name comes from some of her Irish ancestors that settled in Gussetville.

Four Generations of Bowmans

Addie visited her great grandpa Bowman in early November. The picture captures four generations of Bowmans. He loved to see her and we all loved to see them together! Addie is partially named for her great grandma Ada Bowman. We all miss her very much!
